Share Your Shot Help

Posting images from Flickr

If you are posting an image from Flickr, go to your photostream and click on the desired image. Click on the "Share this" button (above your image) and then "Grab the HTML code", then select the "Medium 640" setting from the drop-down list. Copy the code and paste it into the "Image URL" field back on the LearnMyShot site.

Posting images hosted on other sites

If your image is hosted on another photo sharing site or your website or blog then you'll need to use the actual URL of the image. If you're not sure how to find an image's URL, follow the instructions below for your browser.

Internet Explorer: Right-click on the image and click "Properties", then copy the URL in the "Address (URL)" field.

Firefox: Right-click on the image and click "Copy Image Location". Alternatively, you can right-click on the image and click "View Image Info", then copy the URL in the "Location" field.

Safari: Right-click on the image and click "Copy Image Address".

Google Chrome: Right-click on the image and click "Copy Image URL".

Uploading an image from your computer

Click the "Browse" button, then find the image on your hard drive. Make sure the image is in JPEG format. If you have Photoshop, GIMP, or another advanced image editor installed on your computer, please use the "save for web" feature before uploading your image.

Ideally the image should be no greater than 490px wide and no larger than 100 KB in file size, though the uploader will accept any JPEG image up to 3 MB.
